Totally fair. Unfortunately I don't have many other solutions for tonight other than stay vigilant. If you had a spare bathroom or something like that I'd suggest that but that would be messy and ik goats can be quite naughty.....

Do you have some outdoor lighting, or something you can rig up with an extension cord? Light is something they get used to, but it might work for one night, and help you get some sleep. If you can, point it towards the path(s) of approach, to make it hard to see where it's going. And do you have a radio you can play out near the coop?

Oh, another temporary deterrent would be fire. If you can make a safe campfire, ringed with stones or metal, and let it burn down the embers may smolder most of the night. The smell of smoke should deter it, just make sure it's placed so the smoke doesn't blow into the chicken coop.

As sour roses said, raido. Maybe play loud opera or pots banging. Do you have wood you can put around? That way they have more opsicals and maybe scare them away.

Do you have any extra wood that you could screw in with wood screws to reinforce the nest box door or just close it off until it can be repaired?

Are the main doors damaged? I think if I had a bear with that set up I'd close the main doors at night and then pull (an older) car up in front of it. Or a tractor if you have one. Something large.

And this is going to sound extra crazy but I know people out here who do it.

Have any of the guys in your family go mark their territory (pee) around the perimeter where the bear came from. It's a language animals understand. LOL

thank you so much for the advice, i’ve had to do thag before for a mink but wasn’t sure if the music would make it WANT to come here lol. i have a speaker i can put out close to the coop. can it be more like 10 feet away from the coop so it still connects to my phone ? i feel so silly with all the questions so sorry if it feels like a lot! i have a few automatic lights on the trail it came on, and the duck coop/goat pen. but not the chicken coop. i’ll try and figure that out though

i’ve definitely peed around my chicken coop before the scare away minks LOL but i’ll do that (tmi)
main doors are not damaged but wouldn’t take much im sure for it to go through it. the picture above on another reply shows the doors i’ll insert below though

Set alarms every 2 hours to wake up and pang pans to scare him away

Also works if you have a dog who can pee around the area, especially an unneutered male dog
