Black Blue Laced Red Wyandottes?

Quote:
I agree - I mean, its either black or its blue - can't be both.

The color blue can vary greatly in shade, so it can vary when combined with laced red (and other genes, like mottling for example) as well. And of course, just like blue x blue can produce splashes, blue laced red x blue laced red (regardless of shade) can produce "splash" laced red, too.

I got the information here:

I am not a breeder, nor propose to be...just askin'!

I thought it was splash BLRW, blue BLRW or black BLRW. So...it's just black laced red wyandotte?

No, YOUR birds are blue-laced red. There is no black blue laced red. It is one of these three: splash laced-red, blue laced-red or black-laced red. Yours are blue laced red.

Black is just used in order to get the blue-laced red. Black laced-red and splash-laced red are used to get blue-laced red.
