Black + Blue Mottled Cochin eggs

Hey Sarah --

I noticed on your BYC member page that you had one pic of a solid black roo in with the mottled hens. You're not still using him, are you?

Mottie sent me 9. I have 5 developing nicely!!!

Mottie - I'm next on your list, can you change me to just the Cochin, no Wyandotte...I've run out of space due to other hatches. HA! Also, I live in Maine and it's cool here too...hint...hint...

Actually, he is mottled, but from the view you can't see it very well. He is one of those males where the mottling isn't all that great, but he has nice type and feather quality for breeding to a hen with slightly excessive mottling and good type.
He is the father of the black mottled pullet on my BYC and breed page.

If you would like I can get a better photo for you.

Haha, not a problem at all! It might be a while before I have any more eggs to go out though. My girls are starting to slow down a bit, and two of my previously laying hens have gone broody dangnabbit.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful!
I still have to candle your eggs-hopefully the surrogate mommas will let me check them without my fingers getting bloodied, haha.

I'm located in Northern Michigan- a little bit of a drive from Florida, haha.

He's a really nice looking roo, good type and mottling. He looks like a 10 month old cockerel I have!

Thanks. Don't need a pic, just wanted to make sure I wouldn't end up with a pack of solid black babies!

No! For cripes sakes, they're laying slower then ever! It's driving me nuts!
Some of the girls are going through molt, and several birds were taken to a week long show and got stressed out. With any luck though they will be laying soon!
