black broilers from Ideal* Now 3 1/2 weeks

Here are some of the new babies I picked up this morning. 26 (1extra) black broilers from Ideal.

i checked their website and it said they were sold out. did you have them reserved from a long time ago??

I ordered them back on April 4th

I'm waiting on an order from Ideal (ordered in April also) of the sunrise surprise roos, DH and I want to try a few different breeds for table meat, dont mind if they are slow to mature.

I tried black birds for meat a few years ago. It didn't go over very well around here...the feather follicles are black and they make your dressed bird look like it has alot of 'blackheads' They are really beautiful while they are alive though:>) I stick to white for meat now

They are now 3 1/2 weeks old.
I started with 26 and I am down to 24.
2 disappeared, I think my boys left the porch door open and the kitty's got a free chicken dinner!



I moved them outside into their new home!

I am really shocked at how fast they grow.
