Black/brown funk on khaki Drake's beak

What do you think this is? My khaki Drake has this black/brown kinda slimy textured area on his beak. His beaks layers are peeling. Not sure why exactly. Or what the slimyish stuff is. It won't just wipe away and not knowing what it is I don't want to scratch at it or scrape it. Does anyone have any ideas? Illness? Injury? Just dirty? Etc...

Yes he is. I feel bad he's recently become the victim of pekin Drake bullying. Which in turn has made khaki Drake more people friendly.

Not sure if you're familiar with any studio Ghibli movies... When we got him he had no name and he's really quiet and keeps to himself for the most part. We named him No Face after a spirit in spirited away... Our Mallard on the other hand is scar face... Because he was beat up the night before we got him and ended up with some pretty gnarly scars on his face. Tho they're growing in now.

I found this thing called 'beak fungus' not sure if this is that but it looks pretty darn similar. I'm gonna read up on it more and see.
