Black chicken growing white feathers

About two weeks ago one of our chickens was attacked by a fox she got away with only a small cut and quite a few lost feathers, now she is growing them back but some of them are turning grey\white. She is about two years old and is acting fine. What could be wrong?

I have a Minorca cross who grew in a couple white feathers under her wing as she aged. Is she purebred?

It is not unknown for areas that are damaged on a black animal to grow in white . We had that happen to a cat that was run over. It is not genetic and will not affect offspring.

What you are seeing is pin feathers. They have a sheath on them at this time. Once they grow out more and shed the sheath, they should be black
