Black colored Cochin growing white feathers?

My black colored Cochin is growing white feathers, shes less than a year old, does anyone know why?


Her fluffy feathers seem also brown when it used to be black

She also used to have one white feather in her neck when we got her

My guess is that her color genetics are mixed up. While "black" is dominant you are seeing some leakage of more recessive colors and patterns. That is not unusual at all.
