Black copper maran chick

Just got my day old black copper maran day old chicks today and was supposed to have 1 male and one female and they were ordered from a reputable hatchery one of them looks like a black copper maran chick but the other isn't even black it is more like a red blue and yellow these are expensive chicks and I am concerned I didn't get what I paid for should I be angry?

Yes, you should be angry. This forum though will not let you warn others about the seller who as far as I can tell did not send you any BCM chicks.

Wow - the chick with the blue shading on it's head is gorgeous! I hope that you keep them both. I'd really like to see how she grows up.

Operative word here being "hatchery". Most of their breeds look nowhere near what they are supposed to. The black chick looks like a BCM, but it will have a poor comb, it's already showing a twist, and it is clean legged. Marans of any variety should have feathered shanks and outside toes. That other chick is not a Marans. Oh yes, and the breed name is Marans, always with the "S" on the end, whether you are speaking of one bird or 100. Marans is the name of the town in France where the breed originated.

And marans usually have dark gray legs. Your black and white chick looks like it has yellow on it??? maybe you order was mixed up with someone else's? A reputable hatchery couldnt mess up that badly!
