Black Copper Maran eggs too dark!

I am at day 5 of incubating but the BCM eggs are the only ones I can't tell are or aren't fertile. Should I try again at day 14 when things have progressed more or might they explode by then?

I wait til day 18. You at least will be able to see either a chick or if it’s infertile .

I know that the darker egg's are hard to see into for candling. That's why I staid with the lighter colored egg laying breed's.

I use a really bright high lumen flashlight for candling and I still wait until day 12 before I decide if a Marans egg is infertle. Some of them are so dark, it's like candling a rock. Lol
