Wow, great comparison! Looks like the one to the left is a roo...the other 3 are pulletish...

Interesting! The one to the left is Violet - she's a Barnevelder, and they are supposed to be notoriously late bloomers. She does have quite a schnozz though, and she's very feisty.

The other brown one is Marigold - a cream legbar. I got her at a few days old from the same farm I got the hatching eggs because my cream legbar egg didn't hatch. She is a pullet for sure - it's an autosexing breed and she lacks a white spot on her head.

It's nice to know I'll have at least ONE little hen this time!

They are still totally adorable. Patrick is the alpha rooster, and Louis is always a step behind. Patrick in particular is crowing up a storm, which luckily is no problem around here. The grown-up hens still chase and peck at them a bit, but the boys are almost as big as the girls, so that's bound to change soon.

I guess things can go very wrong when they hit puberty, but we're enjoying this phase while it lasts.

Our 3 hens totally chase our young ones around even though they are almost the same size. They will be bigger in 2 months.

My boys are about the size of my smallest hen now. Patrick doesn't get bullied anymore, but sweet Louis is shyer and they still go after him a little bit.

Here they are today, at 10 weeks. Still very sweet and getting handsomer every day.

I have to amend my assessment of who is who-Edger, now has "tufts", like his mama an EE. SO...Edger is an EE X BCM (should be an oliver egger roo), and "Olive," is a black star x BCM).
I'm glad Edger is a roo now, since my post, I lost my BCM Roo and a black star hen (coyote?)
So, Edger is the heir apparent, now.
