black copper marans color?

here are my black cooper marans i have 20 of them,, all same age,, today they are seven weeks old

some of the females and males have more cooper then others can anyone explains this?

They all have feathered legs,, and are of the Jean Wade line.

That brown coloring on the body is undesirable. It is a problem that crops up in BCs from time to time. You need to cull out those birds, especially if the brown body color is still present when they're mature (and so far as I know it does not generally go away).

As for the **copper** color (the orange-y color on the head and neck), that will vary from individual to individual. Some birds won't develop it for several months, while other birds may start developing it at an early age.
