Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could get a color chart for the dark eggs. I would like to see where my eggs are in the color spectrum. Thanks.

I got mine from the marans of america club. This is NOT the club that most recommend. . . .
I think the other club has better pricing too. The two titles are very close in name.

So, hopefully someone else will post what the other clubs name is. . . .

If they don't, then you can get it from the one that I got mine from.

For those that don't want to go backward, here's my boys heads. The blue, Sherman, is in his 10th week and Beauregard (formerly known as #2) is now 8weeks. I'm so tickled that y'all think they're nice!

Here's Sherman (who is going to be HUGE!)

And Beauregard (who is so sweet and easy to handle) Please excuse his crop, he ate too much.

If she doesn't have a peacomb, then the only clue you might have is the lighter coloring you are seeing. Black copper is dominant to duckwing/partridge, so you won't see much difference. She will probably feather out with more brown and a straw colored hackle vs. copper.

Seabreeze, Is this not the same BC marans we id. a while back as having a side sprig, I f it is I myself would never breed a Marans with side sprig. This male tends to have a very short back and that is not a good thing. Just want to make sure this is the same Marans. Sorry, Don
