Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Could I get an opinion on this fellow? I've lost track a little, but he's 12-14 weeks old.
Apologies for his comb on a red background. I'll try to get a different side angle.
I like him.

He has a nice long back.
He is dark, dark ear tuft, not enough color.
His tail looks good.
Nice color on his legs
Good eye color
Beak is a good color

Do you have a picture of him from the back?

He's put up for the night and his tractor is dark. I will try to get one tomorrow.
I can tell you his tail is very broad and arch - like from the back.

I found this egg half buried in the coop sand. I had to scrub it to get the sand off. I was shocked when I saw how dark it is. It was such a nice surprise.

I just got some BCM chicks in the mail this morning and was excited to see they were all doing well when they arrived. I love the coloring of the adults but the black and white chicks are adorable, too! How much darkening of the feet might be expected from chick to adult? Or does the leg color usually stay the same? I have one that has fairly yellow legs (with no feathers), and almost all of them have pale or yellow toes or feet, though most have the feathering.

Congratulations on your new chicks. Could you post some pics?

This is normal for just hatched chicks , they will darken in a few weeks.
