Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Hi everyone! I was hoping someone might have some answers on my small dilemma?

I have hatched out my first batch of Marans from a new line we brought in last year. They are BBS Copper Marans. Most all the babies today 20+ are the right color but there are two babies that look like this....Is there an explanation? I know they aren't
crosses on my end.

I guess I should have said out of the 20+ chicks I hatched today, 2 of them have this odd color to them.....

I think they are saying that 20+ of the chicks are colored correctly but two are colored like the one posted...? I have had them look like that before and they turned out really "mossy" hope this helps

Could you all help me out..

I know the post move quick..so stop..beep beep, back it up ..beeeeeeep....honk honk....lmao...and look at how much my maran has grown in 2 weeks, my photos are about a page back

Anyone who raises them? Any guesses?

Those are some awesome pictures. I am new but I am pretty sure that my uncle has black cooper marans. I just got my chickens last week they are silkies and are 5 months old. I havent named them yet do you have any ideas.
