TAKE some pics and post them on craigslist...

I narrowed my roosters down to three around the age that yours are....
I GAVE the other 8 cockerels away FREE as meaties.

The four I grew out..... I am not keeping any and have had them on Craigslist for almost a month.
I posted them at $10 a piece... and am slowly selling all.

Also, check for the local BYC chicken swap - - it should be a monthly event. I have sold some extras at this too!

x2 some one might be interested in some roosters and is checking craigslist. I have re-homed my roosters thru craigslist

I have a young (4 month old) roo that carries his tail lopsided! I have never seen this before, but we have decided he needs to be dinner. Can this straighten out, or is he truly destined for chicken and dumplings?

Also, I have one young pullet, same age, that is showing white at the tips of her wings. Same question... dinner? I'm guessing so. I need to get pics taken, but it's been stormy/rainy here for a couple days (and I've been super busy ta boot!).... maybe tomorrow!

Rooster has wry tail - probably won't grow out of it - It has been said on this forum that it's connected to not enough width in the rear part of his body.

White tips at 4 months I'd wait - many, many times it molts out. Most of my hens have had white at that age that disappeared. I'd wait if she's otherwise a nice hen.

Dinner for the first one, it only gets worse with age.

As for the pullet, I would hold on to her. By the juvenile molt, the white tips should be gone. Some may even hold on to them until their first adult molt. Fun to mark the feather in question with a red marker, then watch as the black fills in or she drops the offending feather!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing great. I've got lots to catch up on here.

I've been dealing with FUN FUN FUN respiratory issues in my city flock. Long story short, 2 weeks ago symptoms started and spread to practically every bird in my backyard, from ages 3 wks to 2 yrs old. I piled 5 chickens in the car and had a flock visit to the vet for labwork. Throat cultures and blood work and a whole lotta mulah later everything is completley normal: no AI, APV, heamoupholis (sp?), no bacteria or viral infections and no antibodies to MS/MG in any of the birds.

My vet thinks it's most likely environmental...chemical or allergic reaction...I'm still trying to get to the bottom of it all.

On the bright side, everyone is doing great. All are back to normal and acting like nothing happened. So strange.

I'm open for any ideas/suggestions if anyone is up for a diagnostic challenge

*Swollen, pink eye rims and wattles (my poor 10 wk old BCM girls faces were the color of a POL pullet)
*Bubbly eye (in one bird)
*Rattly breathing
*Infrequent sneezing/coughing
*No nasal or ocular discharge
*Lethargy

Other than that, I've got (2) 21 wk BCM pullets that will be laying any day now--by the color and size of their combs I bet you they are and I'm just lousy at the easter egg hunt game
