Please I am not going to take offence I've seen what you folks can dish and really if I need to I will eat the roo. I like to eat crow.... oh I mean rooster!
Wynette, I agree I like them wide too which is why I have kept this blue copper boy too.... he is not only wide but tall!
Wynette is it the dark eyes that make the bcm look overmelonised, or lack of copper in the saddle? I think the saddle is still coming in.
I also have a chick from the same breeding as the BCM roo coming along, about 8 weeks and too young to tell what he'll look like yet. I call him Fat Chick as he is soo much bigger than his hatch mates. Once he gets older I will know better which BCM male to keep through the winter.
Geebs I need to make a desision on which to keep so I would like to know what poeple see in the BCM roo. I think he is too small.... but really do want to know what others see (I got my big girl panties on
). But on the other hand I get where you are coming from and, you have every right not to comment.

Keara: Nice looking boy!!!
If any of you guys that decide to send in eggs want an idea for shipping... I came up with something REDICULOUS... but good. email me... I am not answering PM's. It takes too long. Good luck with the contests.... Lots of room for eggies and participation and a sense of belonging without a huge commitment. Good luck eggybuddies!!!!
geebs, you are going to have to learn how to read between the lines.

Hi Keara, I will help out here and give you my opinion. I believe the side shot shows a young male that is about as nice as you can expect at his age. The back angle is almost perfect if this is his normal stance. Color at his age is very good and will get better. The soft fluff underneath does appear to be brown colored and in my book is a major fault. Look at this feather section with another Marans that has the black soft feathers underneath.
I like his medium station as is required in SOP.
Tail angle looks to be almost perfect.
If he were older I would say his chest and back needs to be wider, likewise the width of the back all the way to tail.
Overall I just do no see anything wrong with this male at the age he is at present. My Marans have just a little more shank and toe feathering. I like the male very much and is a good prospect.
