are they laying? if not 0 hehe


when they start 3-5 a week is my norm.

haha, yeah, they've started,
I've got 3 hens total but they are very very sporadic, I got my first on a wednesday september 4th 2-1/2 weeks ago, then my second on friday the 6, then not another till september 16th, and finally got a fourth yesterday the 22nd. I was just wondering if that was normal for FBCM, none of my other hens were that sporadic when they started laying.

they will have to get in the swing of things. I had one laid a few eggs quit for a few weeks maybe a couple of months and is finally laying regular.

Hi there I am new to this but just hatched some eggs I got here on BYC... lots of fun! Can you tell with the BCMs if you have a hen or roo early on? I only had one of the BCM eggs hatched so fingers crossed I have a hen... Here are a couple photos of Minny/Mickey... any thoughts?? Thanks in advance!

oooh..... makes me want to set eggs again and it has only been 3 weeks since my last BCM hatch As far as sex, mine lie to me all the time, they keep me guessing until about 3 - 4 weeks old. At that age I start seeing the larger/pinker combs.

i Know!!! someone asked me for 6 black copper chicks so of course I set about 30 eggs!! I just can't help it
