These will have to do until I can get better pics. I think I showed you some of these. The sexlink have picked all the feathers off his legs. I may get rid of those ladies, they do not play well with others.

Don, this is the same guy I posted a few weeks ago (those were old pics). You said the rise before his tail looked a bit off. The saddle feathers have grown in a bit and they look better as far as that goes. I'm not sure if his back looks too long or not. I will get some shots from each angle next time I'm out.

ETA: I found a top back shot.

my bcm pullet is picking my brahma's leg feathers. I have been told to give her some bacon and she should stop. she did stop but started again later.

I would try giving them a higher protien feed and give oyster shell on the side. My flock ways about 22% protien at all times. Mostly so I can feed everyone the same thing (chicks, poults, turkeys, chickens). I haven't seen any feather picking in my group.

she has plenty of proteins but she is a *****! my poor brahma is almost blind, she does not move a lot and I think that is that bothers her.

Hi RedBanks your BCM chicks are gorgeous great type not skinny tall chicks.
I notice you have 2 type a dark and the penguiny type.
I personally I prefer the dark one they are true ER/ER correct down color ( that what the Franch standard call for) BUT I notice you guys having a good result with a penguiny type.in the US.

RedBank can you take a photos of them individually and tug them ( with numbers or colour tags) so we can follow they growth and development We can can also see the different between the 2 type the dark and the penguin.
Thank you Chooks, I will take your advice and band them. Individual photos too. They are LP Marans and Greenfires latest import chicks. I looked at pics of both of those chicks on each website. The dusty chicks look like LP and the penquin (as you call them) Greenfire.

This is the breeding stock they came from. These pics belong to Feels Right Farm.

I'm feeding %18 and have oyster shell out all the time. Our egg production is through the roof so I guess I thought the protein was fine. My sexlinks are just very aggressive especially when he was smaller than them. They have plenty of room to free range too.

this is my mario. he was sick, almost died 2 days ago. honey and vitamins in water given by syringe helped him recover (antibiotics were given as well but he got worse on day 4).

he fully recovered yesterday. crowing and mating like crazy, lol. what do you think about him?
