Just tell everyone you decided to create designer chicks- that should solve the color issue

Pink: Blue is a black dilute... okay... totally will allow it for the study disregarding the shading... The same rules would still apply... Doncha think? P.S. It looks black to me... If it is Bill's, the jury is out....

Just so ya know: I am not ignoring this thread... I have kids competing out of town till Sunday night... I am hecka crazy busy driving them and their horses and watching competition until Sunday... I will play catch up during next week... Thanks Math for holding up the fort.

We have currently two injured horses...... Ground is soooo hard.... aaackkkk one is Cookie.. She has heavy competition on Sunday... And the other is our Rope horse...TJ... We have brought a ringer in for that event.. fingers crossed... We are heading out now to try and put Cooks back together so we don't have to bring in another sub for Gaming... She is our master at Flags and relay...

My poor chooks are on FEED STORE FOOD!!! (everyone suffers)

It's not Bill's...this little baby is from Chloe my Davis Blue Copper and Gnarles also Davis Blue Copper. 4 of her eggs hatched, 3 splash and this one in question. I have one other lighter Bl-Cpr that is from a GFF BCM pullet cross Gnarles and one dark Bl-Cpr cross my Splash Davis hen and Bill.

The chooks aren't going to suffer from eating fast food once an a while.....

PINK

I included a couple of blues in my chicks.
That changes should follow the same path that the blacks do.
So, I don't see a problem in tracking blues with blacks.

I just wanted share some photos of my first BC pullets. They are now six months old and just started laying. Egg color is not to bad hopefully will get a little darker. So far the color has not been even on the eggs. At least I can tell they are Marans eggs much darker than my hatchery quality splash hen I have. Here is a couple photos of them.

How are they looking so far? I plan on acquiring quite a bit more stock this year. Dare I hope maybe even a nice rooster I can use for breeding! I will be hatching eggs as much as possible. My last hatch only produced one BC chick.
