Lisa, that 2nd cockerel, to me, looks ewe-backed. JMO, of course I am not an expert. I like his color balance, though, and he's got a fantastic length of back!

Did you see a lot of the Comb and Waddle development - both size and color - between 3 & 4 weeks? Mine will be 3 weeks tomorrow... I am seeing some comb size developing on a couple, but nothing close to what yours did at 4 weeks as shown in the pics above. Not red yet at all or near that large... Got any 3 week pics?

Wynette, I think but do not know for sure what makes the back look a little high in the rear is because the hand is causing the male to elevate just a little on the rear section. With a back like this young male has you will not see a high tail, you will have a gradual break in the back and tail. I like this male very much. Don
Pullet #1 has no leg feathering which means she probably came from my one blue copper hen x black copper roo. I have one blue hen that has no leg feathering . ...
