Bless your heart for saying that (even if you're wrong).

I really, really really don't want to have to lose any of them to something as silly as a "Y" chromosome but my neighbors don't appreciate roosters in the same way we do!

I feel ya on the neighbor part

Oh, and you cant blame it on a Y--the real culprit is the double Z

Double Z?! I'm going to have to go look that up!

Down to 4 roos to decide on, they are currently 5 mos. old....... The first two are my top picks, but please keep in mind that I know very little. Any critiques would be appreciated, please be brutal, pick them apart, I do not need to keep any of them, have new chicks coming and perfectly willing to start over. I currently have no breedworthy hens so, tell me what you think. I am serious about breeding SOP birds.

Roo #1 I like his shape. Is this the desired bowl shape? Short back, good/bad/indifferent? Heavy feathering on shanks.

Roo # 2: Quite light in colour compared to the others, very light feathering on shanks, long back, good/bad/indifferent?

Roo #3: His wings look strange to me, is there a name for this? Heavy feathering on legs. Roach back? Very busty guy! I like his colour, is it good?

Roo #4: Medium feathering on legs. This guy just looks a little scrawny to me and roach back as well?

If there is anything more or something you want to see a close up on any of these roos, let me know and I will get more pics.

My choice would be between roo 1 and 2 also. . . . . The other two are not even close!

Roo 1 - - can you get a close up of his face ? My monitor is showing funky coloring under the wattle AND just above the eye.

Roo 2 - - I like his back, tail angle and chest better BUT I think his coloring is not as good. His eye color may be light too.
Coul you get a close up of his face too ?? No leg feathering or so light that it looks like it is missing . . . . is not good on
you roo. I think it is better to have to much feathering than not enough.

I am leaning toward Roo #1, but would like to see face shots first!

Zanna~

#1 is my favorite and looks as though he will be a very nice boy upon maturity. #2 looks like he will also be a very nice chunky boy upon maturity. I wouldn't worry about the length of his back, IMO it is a nice length. Look at the size of his neck would ya....what a chunker!

I am going to have a hard time waiting to see him once he is fully matured.

Girl you have way tooooooo many cockerels at your house......you can pack this boy up and send him over to me. U know I can make space for him.

I agree with Don....he is a nice young cockerel.

I am at a crossroad on the number one and number two... I think either would work depending on hens... Number 3 and 4 are lacking...

number one has good substance... Number two could do a lot of correction... (I might keep both depending)
