To me, sparse means, "not thick or dense," few and far between.

I agree Kathy, sparse to me means not think or dense. I prefer birds that have one nice clean line of feathers down the shank to the outer toe and I personally do not care for the feather on the outer toe. I will have to get a photo of what I am describing.

I like the cottage presentation of the feathering... with the little gap just before the feathering... Adds a sexy impact!!! Like she is wearing bedroom slippers....

you're weird.

Shanks should be feathered from the top of the leg all the way down the outer shank, and to the tip (almost) of the outer toe.

I like BIG in my birds as well (I also have exhibition-quality Jersey Giants...so that tells you how much I like BIG!).

I, like Math, also like very big eggs. We all tweak our breeding for what we like. I have a hen that lays a gorgeous, probably strong 7, and she is 3, egg. But it's only medium in size, so I don't hatch from her. Just me.

Bedroom slippers for mine!!! RAH.... Wierdo here... YEP... Husky hunky males with slippered mistresses.... Awe Wynette, you can't say the spacing doesn't add IMPACT!!! za zing ya know!!

Geebsie, is that a banty?

Okay, honest opinions on my new boy. His lobes are not white, must be camera issue. Sorry for all the feathers...juvie molt in that pen. I see...he's missing feathers along the outside toe. He has a honkin' long sickle feather that I wish he did not. I like his length of back, angle of back, angle of tail, comb, and most of all, color balance. What am I missing? ALL FEEDBACK APPRECIATED. Oh, this guy is 18 weeks in this pic, so has some growing to do:

Looky at the sexy leg feathering... Ya I see what you mean about the white.. Good comb, good eye color from what I can tell. Horn is good, wattles good, Topline is nice and the marriage at the tail is really nice.... Long back. How is his chest? 10 percent flames? I think I can see some... I like the copper quality. Tail angle is great however he does have a sickle that would be less desirable. Is that white in the tail or is it the light??? Shank feathering appears to be there and leg color looks good.

Nice bird

I can't say percentage what his chest has for the lightning bolts or flames or whatever it is that you call those, geebsie, but it's probably around 10 - 15%. GADS - I've not seen white in his tail, so I assume it's the flash - I'll check later on. Thanks for the feedback - I'm excited to see how this guy matures out.
