I read this thread occasionally and usually run into discussions about feeding and adding meat protiens such as is found in fish feeds. I have a question for someone whos better at math than me (Math Ace, is that because you are?)
OK, I have a 50 lb bag of straight fish meal that averages 65% protein. I want to mix it with a layer ration and an all purpose that are 16% protein. How do I figure out how much to add to up the protein to say around 20% for layers and 25% for growing juveniles.
Pinkchick, this is for you. I saw you add kelp also. I do use kelp but no scientific amount. Just kind of sprinkle some on the food but wondered how you feed it and do you use a certain amount. BTW, I hatched 8 Blue Copper/Black Copper chicks from your eggs. I got 4 blue and 4 black. All big fluffy very healthy chicks. I'm listening to them now tearing apart their brooder. Very busy kids. Need to take them to the bigger brooder in the tack room!
