this is a 3 weeks old Black Copper Marans. how big does it get and what is the gender?

they are a dual propose breed and to young to tell

I have French Marans and they are a heavy breed, nice big birds, lay eggs through the winter with no added light.... good choice! Can't tell the sex, too young....

at 3 weeks its not really feathered much [infact are you sure its a pure marans as those legs although feathered are far too yellow]

my 4 week old is heavely feathered and has a large comb mine is a roo

so with yours possible pullet but too early to say


as for size they get big usually

yours looks very runtish and may stay small
