Black Copper Marans/Olive/Americauna

Actually I disagree...that makes them 7 weeks old by my calendar...and while the comb is a bit concerning on the black one, that is not a highly developed comb yet, and I've had several EE's get peachy comb early but not develop further until they mature at POL...hybrids can do that.

There is no indication the blue is a rooster...at 7 weeks, I think you've got pullets with a wait and see on the black one.

Bummer...ah well...it is good to hang in there on some of them until crow or lay. I have actually given away a really good laying hen when I acted too quickly.

Hi there! I'm trying to find out more information on these two young chickens that I recently rescued. I was told by more experienced chicken keepers that I have a Copper Maran, or it could be a mixed breed. Both the Maran and the EE are about 14 weeks old. I adore them both! I'm just wondering if thanyone can tell if they are pullets or roosters. Fingers crossed for pullets- thank you!!!

I agree both pullets. And it looks like you have 1 Black Copper Marans (the one with the orange neck)...and I think I see some light foot feathering in both, so the second is likely an Olive Egger EE which means a mix created to produce olive green eggs (usually by breeding a blue egg layer like the Ameraucana with a dark egg layer like the Marans).
