How would I know if these are French Black Copper Marans at 2 1/2 month old

Where did you get them? They look a lot like Black sex-links.

i agree sex links were given to me as marans

The first bird has feathered legs, so Marans is likely. Do they have white skin? The best place to check is the bottom of the feet, that shows the true skin color of the bird. If so, they're likely Marans. The majority of black sex links are going to have yellow skin.

They both have feathers on legs and dark skin.
