I remember you talking about what a time you had trying to sort out which bird was carrying which genetics and you wished you had gotten better stock.I've found the opposite true.
For me splash are very easy to tell but some blues are so dark that they can be mistaken as black.
Silkies are notorious for this. I've raised a black trio once and when I started hatching chicks I was getting blacks, blues and whites.
