Black Jersey Giant???

I bought 3 chicks suppose to be bjg. But everywhere read they aren't suppose to have feathered legs. So did I get a mixed breed of a Jersey or could it be a maran? I gave 2 of the 3 to a friend and one of them had no feathers and the other very lil but I have the 3rd one with lots of feathers.

Definitely not BJG. Any copper showing up in neck feathers at all (even a little bit)? Might be Maran if so. But there are some other feathers leg birds: Cochin and Brahma, also larger breeds, but I’m not so well versed in those two breeds.

so far no copper colors but I looked at black French maran and some pics I saw of them had no copper. I have some brahmas but the darks is way diff in color.

Check the bottom of their feet. Marans should be white/pink. If yellow then its likely a Cochin mix. Could be a Black Marans though.
