Is it just me or does this baby chick have a strangely pink comb for being only a little over three weeks old. Am I just a little paranoid after getting a roo last time?!

Chick combs can flush pink for several reasons. I couldn't call it just now with any confidence. Update in 3 to 4 weeks.

I'd lean towards cockerel but Wyandottes in particular can keep you guessing for a bit. If a lot of silver starts coming in on the shoulders I'd suspect a cockerel more strongly.

You can see in the below picture where the male has silver shoulders while the female maintains lacing throughout.

We've bred wyandottes for 9 years. Hatchery birds are harder to sex, but in our line-the males combs are pink quicker and they are wider than the females. The female's combs are almost a gray shade when they are juveniles.

The head is starting to go full white. The comb has stayed this consistent pink but not gotten too much darker, which is reassuring. Now a month and a half old. Feather towards tail are looking a little like saddle feather which is not reassuring.
