Does anyone know much about this breed? I am new at all of this. I am not sure if this where it goes but if anyone has any info. on them please let me know. I have 3 beautiful hens and wondered a little about them and where I could find a Roo that is ready to fertilize eggs this spring. If I order from McMurry it will be too young.?.

Hi aj. I have Langshans....they are spring 07 hatched. Mine are laying great! I have a black roo, and hen, and 2 white hens. I am trying out the cross thing...so far, looks like I have 9 splash babies. This spring I am hopeing to have more...but if you are willing to make the drive(shipping scares me right now) Or want to waite for late spring....I should have at least ONE splash roo. They are 12 days old right now, so Im still not sure of thier sexes. I LOVE my Langshans. Great personalities....gentle, and great layers of brown eggs.

Do you have any pictures? I bought these beauties not knowing what they were. I sent a picture to Mcmurray hatchery asking what they were I that is how I found out. I bought them in Pa. But I went with a friend and I cannot remember who it was. I cannot get in touch with the lady that I went with. I 2 Roos. 1 Is maybe a dominique. the other is a milli fluer. I thought of ordering from mcmurray but I know I will not be able to breed this year. How much would you sell them for??

Here is a pic of my boy, and his ladies....

The babies I can part with....but parents are not for sale...they are my breeders.

These babies will be almost point of Lay come spring...so...Oh heck, I dont know....I guess for a hen...$15, and a Roo...well....$15 as well. Now, IF you can pick them up..and take more than one...we can make a deal. Shipping is expencive..and scarey! One Rooster, full size from here to there would cost about 45 to ship.( roughly that much)

justusnak--I wish I had known earlier you had Langshans (when I had some room in the coop). They are beautiful, I just love the v-shaped profile, long legs, dark eyes, everything! Oh well...someday.

ajcress...Have you tried the West Virginia Dept. of Agricultural Market Bulletin in their Poultry section?...either a sale or wanted?...sometimes they have lots of different breeds listed for sale..

Edited to add...They have an internet site.....
