Black Legs and four toes:

Okay, this may seem like a strange question but I've seen chicks with 3 toes, I've seen them with 5 toes (Silkies) but at the store the bantam assortment has 4 toed black chicks....what could these chicks be? I didn't buy any because I am looking for Silkies, so I don't have any pictures.

I have never heard of a 3 toed chick

most have 4 toes, that I have seen. 3 in the front and one that is a little up on the leg

Me either, most chicks got 4 toes at least all mine do, except my favs and silkies.

I have some three two, or maybe I'm just not seeing that fourth two....but what has black legs and four toes?

hatchery quality silkies sometimes only have 4 toes

My Black sex links have 4 toes and black legs. My Black Austrolopes have black legs, and although they have 3 toes, the middle toe is yellow! EE have greenish/olive legs and 4 toes.

I've never seen one with 3 toes. They should have 3 toes out front plus 1 toe sticking out the back. The exceptions are those 5-toed breeds such as silkies, dorkings, etc.
