A blacklight is UV wavelengths and would actually emit very little heat. Heat is given off in the infrared range - the other side of the spectrum

Go to any petshop or lizard shop they have ceramic heat lamps that produces no light at all.

There is a pet shop with lizard lights/red lights in downtown Waynsville, a block off dowtown. I think that is close to you, but I am directionally impaired.

Thats still a ways but doable. My chicks were due on Thur. but no chicks or communication so far. I ordered through a farm store. Never again. I will order direct. I did not know so many co. still had chicks. jean
