So I've had chickens for only 2 years now and have a wide variety of breeds. Treat them all the same and try to give them attention when they're chicks. I've noticed when they go through their teen years they want nothing to do with me. But when they're adults they get a little more friendly. But I have only one who seems to really like people she comes over for attention, she likes to be picked up and pet ...and that's my Black Maran hen -- James Bond. I was wondering have others experienced the same kind of thing with this breed or is this not breed-specific it just happens to be a friendly chicken? Here she is with chicken sitter Rachel

I think the friendliest breed I've had would be barred Rocks. But many times you see folks here talking about how mean their BR are... 🤔 I think a lot just depends on the individual chicken and how you raise them. :)

Had a Lt Brahma like that, hated to held as a chick but later wanted to be touched and picked up....but that only lasted a few months.
Think it's individual rather than breed behavior.
