Black Oil Sunflower Seeds

I just had a quick question about black sunflower seeds, I’ve been feeding them to my chickens for about a year and they look great, but I was wondering if it was the Black oil sunflower seeds at work or if there was no nutritional benefits from them. I feed my flock layer pellets and the black oil sunflower seeds only because them darn sparrows keep getting in the coop when I free range the chickens and they eat the all flock

BOSS seed has alot of amino acids in them...that promotes healthy plumage, gives the feathers their shine.
