Buff Orpington X Australorp. But the rooster was Buff Orpington. Order don't matter for the cross.

Does the Black Australorp have silver or gold? If they have silver, then the direction of the cross does matter, and an Australorp rooster with buff hen would produce chicks that show white (silver) instead of gold.

All my Australorps have been gold based. Haven't had a silver.

It does depend on source though, some places may carry Silver based Australorps.

And our black Australorps came from TSC last year, here is a hen as we no longer have the roo, so no idea if the gold or silver or if that matters with these?

I see no Australorp Rooster, but I do see what looks to be a Light Sussex cockerel.
