I have 29 hens total, mostly Buff Orpingtons but four Black Polish as well. The four Black polish will not go all the way into the coop at night, preferring to sit by the AutoDoor and end up out all night on the stoop just outside the door. I have had to make them go in on some nights, but they do not seem comfortable inside the coop with the others. Any ideas or should I not worry. In have seen them in the coop during the day when others are not inside. They are safe from predators where they stay.

First, how old are they?
Younger pullets sometimes take a while to get the hang of going into the coop at night. Especially with bigger girls to contend with.

Do you notice any bullying going on?
I know my roosts are like the lunch table in elementary school!! It’s mean girls and bullies and victims all over the place while they get it sorted out.
It could be that your Polish want to stay away from the drama.

If possible, try adding a separate perch for them.
