Black ringneck pheasant chick.

I have a ringneck pheasant chick that is much darker than the rest of them. He's not wet so that's not why he is darker. Anyone have anything like this happen?

this is him/her. It's almost black and has a white patch on its throat. I'm thinking maybe melanistic?

If its black with white around the neck and maybe some of the breast it is indeed a melanistic
