Black runner turning white at 1?

My 1 year old black runner is turning white already. She did have white circles around her eyes, but with her fall molt all of a sudden she has a ton of white. Is this normal?

Yes solid black ducks often turn more and more white with every molt.

Thanks. I was just surprised by how white she is already. My Cayugas are still solid black after their fall molt. Same age as her.

It just depends on the individual. Eventually your Cayugas will also turn fairly white. It’s kind of like with people. My husband started going grey at 25, but on my side of the family I have grandparents that barely had salt and pepper hair when they died in their 80’s.
