Black Sex Link,

Hi, I got a new Sex Link Chickie today from a friend, and I was wondering. What type of Feather pattern do Sex links have. ( Like Barred, Spangled, etc?) Thank you.

A black sex-link pullet will be black with some reddish leakage on the neck/chest. The amount of red will vary depending on what mix was used to make the sex-link. So, the pullet has no "pattern", per se. The cockerals will be barred.

Mixes are my favorite! I have two bsl sisters and they couldn't look more dissimilar! I think Pick just got more of the RIR color genes, and Peck got a little more of the BR! Mostly black chickens are a shiny combo of iridescent green and purple in the sunshine! They're very beautiful birds. Enjoy!

My two BSL...love them! Mine are pullets, and 16 weeks
