Long story short...these are the only 3 chicks that hatched out of my very first incubator attempt. Some of you have already seen them I am sure. I have a BR and a RIR roo. BR, RIR, and EE hens. I know the one is EE/RIR. It came from a green egg. The other two were out of BR eggs. Obviously RIR roo and BR hen, since they both have red feathering, but how do they get the black legs when they are a cross of 2 yellow legged breeds?

And both blacks would be female if they are sex links right?

Here are a couple more pics of her. They are so funny! When I open up the pen door too far, they all come flying out and land on me like pigeons!

My black sexlinks i got from a local hatchery both have Black Legs. The hens are now about 17 weeks and i have had them since they were 3 weeks of age. They still have their Black legs and don't look like their changing color anytime soon so i so i would say it is natural but i will watch this post just to be sure. Good Luck!

Both BSLs I've had, black legs... one of them had a 'white toe'.

She is now with Sam the Yam out in Peoria and he named her Licorice.

So if black legs are normal, then they really are black sex links? Not really any way they could be anything else with the roos that I have so I am not sure why I am questioning it. The legs threw me off I guess.... LOL. Both of the blacks would definitely be pullets then....correct? My husband is out culling his first roo as I type this and I really want all 3 of these babies to be pullets! Not sure if I can eat the ones I hatch and raise.
