Black sex links?

We got black sex links from TSC 4 weeks ago but they do not look like they have traditional black sex link feathering at this age. Am I wrong?

I thought they had a lot more brown in their feathers at this age? In a lot of pictures that I’ve seen have a lot more “red”/Brown in their chest area

Are you talking about the chicks not having red feathering on their necks? That has a lot to do with the father breed. I used a Black Cochin over my Dominiques and 3 of my 4 pullets are all black. The one that has red on her had a Dom/RIR mother.

They vary greatly. Some get the brown later, some get a lot of brown, and some don't get much at all. It depends on the parent breeds the hatchery used for the cross.

Black sexlinks are a crossbreeds. As such, there can be quite a bit of variation.

I've had 2 batches of black sex links. My first batch looked like yours, with very little red, and one practically didn't have any. The batch I have now has soooo much red! Even in their tail feathers! I think it just depends on their parents, and luck of the genes.
