Black Sexlink hen laying eggs on roost

Cuteness and 'privacy' is not necessary for the birds...that's for some humans.
Birds just need easy access and to feel 'safe'.

Here are some photos of nesting boxes and some of the roost.
Your nests look fine @Dana Childs , nice size, perch out front....it's just going to take some time.
Have you seen them get into the nests at all?
I think you said you put on up there?
That can help, but don't insist and freak them out.
Curious if they've ever slept in the nests?
That can happen when roosts are not higher than nests.
