Black Snakes out already

On TV there was a show of a pest exterminator who mentioned that garlic wards off snakes. Since seeing that episode, I have been sprinkling granulated garlic along my gated fence area. I don't know if it works or not, but I haven't seen a snake yet and hope to never see one.

Has anyone else heard of Garlic to ward off snakes? I hope it works because we live in Rattlesnake country.

Netting is the only way to go. We have been using it for a few years. Discovered it by accident. My elderly parents put it around a coop to keep some chicks from getting out. Quickly realized this stuff works great for catching snakes. They keep it around all of their coop/pen and I keep it around my one coop.

We get at Lowe's, they call it wildlife netting, I think. 7'x100' roll. Something like $20.
