Black Specks on Chickens Comb

Hi all, we have a few of our birds with start showing up with these little blacks spots or bugs on their combs. Our rooster, who is in the picture, has has some little black bugs on his body too. We have powdered the whole flock and the body bugs have improved a lot but these spots on the comb are still there. Any advice would be great!

I think they are dried blood spots. Possibly from the bug (mites, presumably) bites. Possibly from being pecked by another bird. Is there another rooster in the flock? A little Vaseline or neosporin on the comb should heal him right up.

There was a time when one of the hens were getting a little rough with him possibly trying to pick mites off him. Found him hiding in the nest boxes to get away from her a couple times. Blood spots make sense. Thanks for the advice we will give it a try. He is such a sweet, mild mannered roo.
