Hello,

I know I saw an article on this somewhere but now can't find it!

1) Dove, Sapphire Gem, 29 weeks, 3-4 pounds, biggest of our flock!
2) No change in Behavior.
3) Just noticed black dot on comb, but had been gone for 8 days.
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms? NO
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. NO
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. Nothing
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. Same feed, Sprout, and house/well water as others.
8) Normal 💩
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Nothing
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? Treat myself
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
12) Describe the housing/bedding in use - basic coop with straw. It has been wet and humid for several days.

If it's a very small, almost flat spot, it's very likely a pecking injury. Combs seem to bruise easily from even the smallest of pecking order scuffles. If you're concerned it's something more than that, please post a pic!

My Hornet is littered with tiny black spots from Poppy's "corrections".
