Hi!

I have a weird foot issue with my rooster I am trying to treat. The bottom of one foot pad is slightly larger, has black spots, raised scales, deep valleys and is warm to the touch. I have seen a lot of bumble foot in other chickens and this does not look or feel like it.

How would you treat, what is it?

He is being treated right now for the northern fowl mite and not sure if this mite could do anything to the bottom of the foot?

Thanks for the help!

Here is the top of the same foot just for reference, you can see it look good and no raised scaled:

It looks like your chicken has injured the foot, possibly spraining it, but certainly cutting it on something sharp. The swelling could be from the injury. I would soak the foot in warm water with Betadine or Chlorhexidene (Hibiclens) to disinfect the wound, then apply plain Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment on the wound. Then I would fold a 2x2 gauze pad, and wrap the foot in a vet wrap bandage as one would wrap a bumblefoot. Here is a video on dressing the wound:
