I have four 2-3 year old welsummer hens who have all appeared to be in good health and are laying anywhere from 1-2 eggs each day. About a week ago I noticed black spots on the comb of one of them, looked at forums and pictures and decided it was the dry pox? Is that what's it called? Anyway tonight I noticed that at the base of the comb the feathers also have some black areas and it looks like she may even have lost some feathers right at the base of the comb. What do I do? I love my girls!

Thank you! I'm going to check on the vaccination too. Have you ever given the shot to any of your birds?

No, I'm pretty new to chickens. I'm sure there are some experienced folks who can help. If you search in the box at the top of the page for "injecting" or "vaccinating" some threads should pop up. Or you can post a thread about how to vaccinate.
Good luck!:fl
