Black spots on crowns Help

My rooster has it and some of my hens. What is there i can give them I used tooth paste to dry it up. But it comes back. HELP PLEASE

Do you mean the comb or the top of their heads?

Without seeing a photo it's hard to say, but if it's fowl pox you'll see some photos here which will assist you.

If it washed off (why did you use toothpaste?) it might be dirt. I see this kind of thing on my hens but it's never the same girl and if she swishes in water it's gone. I'd be nervous of toothpaste, especially if there is fluoride.

Do you have any photos? I'm wondering if they are just dust bathing and getting dirty.

Scabs. They must be scratching their combs on something. Wrong time of year for pox, which is carried by mosquitoes and are generally bumpy.

I would definately guess frostbite. Mine have them too. I am in Northeast, not sure where you are but that is probably all. The black will eventually fall off but in the meantime just coat their combs with a think layer of vaseline to protect from the cold. I do it at night when they have roost so I can get at them a little easier. Don't worry they should be fine. Welcome!

I realize in the cold the roosters crown could turn black in cold/freezing weather. However sometimes it happens in the summer. Could anyone shed some light on the cause and remedy?
