Can someone tell me if the black spots on my Easter Eggers comb are anything to be concerned about. Besides the spots she seems to be perfectly healthy. I thought it may be mosquito bites but none of my other 6 chickens have anything like this.

Five minutes later....I just went to feed the girls dinner an noticed another Easter Egger and a Barred Plymoth Rock have the same spots. is this something contagious?

Ok I think it’s fowlnpox which is spread by mosquitoe bites not too sure mine get mosquito bites when it’s humid it looks like that but only on ones with large combs and roosters wattles

I believe your chickens (and I guess mine) have fowl pox the dry version it should go away in 2-4 weeks the wet version is the only dangerous one dry they should be ok
Yes I would agree that it looks like fowl pox. It is a virus spread by mosquitoes. It lasts about a month, requires no treatment, and they should both recover.
