Looks more like pecking injuries than a disease to me.
Has he been fighting a hen or another male?

I agree it’s just scabs from scuffles that be may have gotten into.

Ah ok, that makes sense. He’s our new addition and we are rehoming the other rooster tomorrow. They were together briefly under supervision and I didn’t realize they’d even made contact!

Should I do anything to help heal?
